2018 in The Hairdressing Spotlight Rossanos Ballyshannon
The dust is only starting to settle at Rossano’s Hair Salon Ballyshannon after a lot of hard work and excitement. Elaine Flaherty, Senior Stylist, Educator and Manager at Rossano’s Hair Salon Ballyshannon and Creative Director and Owner Rossa Danagher teamed up and took to the stage earlier this year to compete in the L’óreal Color Trophy Hair Awards 2018 winning themselves a place in the finals.
The L’óreal Color Trophy is one of the most prestigious awards within the hairdressing industry and it showcases hairdressing talent from around the globe. Held across 5 continents in 37 countries, The L’Oréal Colour Trophy finalists were challenged to create “Hair Inspired by Fashion.” The competition aims to create something new in hair color trends, something inspirational that has not been done before. The team were very lucky to find themselves a model within their clientele, the strikingly beautiful Kelly Coll. Kelly was the perfect canvas for Rossa and Elaine to work their imaginative creations on.
The award is extremely fashion focused and thankfully with the exceptional work of Fashion Designer Carmel Hynes Rossanos’s done the North West of Ireland proud with their unique creations for both the semi finals and the finals. Each look was complemented with the perfect makeup look created by the very talented Rachel Doherty Senior Stylist and MUA at Rossano’s Donegal.
Competitions like this take a lot of hard work and preparations and would not be possible without the support of the team across the 3 salons at Rossano’s Hairdressing Group. Mairesa McKeon Senior Stylist and Educator was on hand throughout the process to offer support and a critical eye as always. The whole team backed Elaine and Rossa all the way to help work around their busy schedules and stay after hours for morale support.
It was a fantastic celebration for all at the finals in the Clayton Hotel in Dublin and all the team showed up in style including Rosemary Danagher Business Director and Owner at Rossano’s. Rosemary is a busy mum, wife to Rossa and somehow manages to keep the whole show going at Rossano’s Hair and Beauty Group.
A huge congratulations to this year’s winners L’Oreal Men’s Image Award- Joanna Fogarty and Graham Molloy, Brown Sugar, Blackrock and Callum O’Donovan of The Edge Hair Design, Cork won L’Oreal Colour Trophy STAR Award. Elaine and Rossa would like to thanks all the team, clients and everyone who offered their wishes and support throughout the process.
Just moments after coming off the stage Elaine and Rossa were back to supporting their team as rising star and Redken Color Specialist Aine Carty of Rossanos Ballyshannon prepared for 3 title awards within two major competitions within the one week. Aine was nominated for The Best of The Best Hairdressing Awards Best Colour and Best Commercial Look as well as Cut and Color Title at this year’s Alternative Hair Show Visionary Awards.
Both awards ceremonies are held annually with talent from across the globe. Aine went head to head with some of the leading names in the industry and done the team at Rossanos very proud. This young ambitious Mummy is dedicated to her work and is educated regularly by Rossanos in house and through the Redken and L’Oreal Academies. She is a fully qualified Redken color specialist and a shining star at Rossanos.
A great year all round at Rossanos and we are only halfway through 2018, Onwards and Upwards!!
